Since life gave us the opportunity again, we try to schedule vacation during the spring or summer of each year. Now that we live in the United States, we have decided to know every corner of this beautiful country traveling by road. So far, we have traveled the 3/4 parts of the continental United States. The “plandemia” prevented us from traveling for two years and as soon as we could travel again, we programmed “The Journey of Life”, departing from South Florida to Deer Park, Washington State, going up Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, South Dakota, Montana, Idaho and returning through Oregon, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Louisiana and Alabama.

Desde que la vida nos brindó nuevamente la oportunidad, tratamos de programar vacaciones durante la primavera o verano de cada año. Ahora que vivimos en Estados Unidos, hemos decidido conocer cada rincón de este hermoso país viajando por carretera. Hasta ahora llevamos recorridas las ¾ partes de Estados Unidos continental. La “plandemia” evitó que viajáramos durante dos años y en lo que pudimos hacerlo, programamos “El Viaje de La Vida”, partiendo desde el sur de La Florida hasta Deer Park, Washington State, subiendo por Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, South Dakota, Montana, Idaho y regresando por Oregón, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, New México, Texas, Luisiana y Alabama.
Unfortunately, Joe Biden had plans to destroy the foundations of our third country and just like Castro did in Cuba and Chávez in Venezuela; among other things, he began by making sure that gas prices were inaccessible to much of the Americans, including: us! So, we decided to travel by plane.

Air BNB
We had made reservations through Air BNB to spend the night in several cities such as Las Vegas, Salt Lake City, New Orleans, among many others. We had to cancel them, which wasn’t entirely easy. That’s how we stumbled upon a paradise hidden in the mountains of eastern Washington state, near Deer Park, where I spent the best years of my teenage life. We would take the opportunity to participate in the “Settlers Picnic”, where I hoped to meet with many of my former high school colleagues, whom I had not seen for 53 years.
Habíamos hecho reservaciones a través de Air BNB para pernoctar en varias ciudades como Las Vegas, Salt Lake City, New Orleans, entre muchas otras. Las tuvimos que cancelar, algo que no fue del todo fácil. Fue así como nos topamos con un paraíso escondido en las montañas del este del estado de Washington, cercano a Deer Park, donde pasé los mejores años de mi adolescencia. The week of July 18 to 25 was very complicated for the small town of Deer Park, because it would be carrying out the largest social activities in the region, such as the “Settlers Parade”, the “Settlers Picnic” and the Clayton Rodeo, which formerly – in my time – was held in the sister town of Deer Park. We tried to stay in a cabin at Granite Point, on Loon Lake, but everything was busy. We made other attempts and there was no way to get accommodation, which became a “hidden blessing”, because we discovered “Bluff’s Edge” and, very-especially: Dick and Cherri, our fabulous hosts.

La semana del 18 al 25 de julio era muy complicada para el pequeño pueblo de Deer Park, debido a que se estaría llevando a cabo la mayor actividad social de la comarca, como el “Settlers Parade”, el “Settlers Picnic” y el Rodeo de Clayton, que antiguamente – en mi época – se realizaba en el pueblo hermano de Deer Park. Tratamos de quedarnos en una cabaña de Granite Point, en Loon Lake, pero todo estaba ocupado. Hicimos otros intentos y no hubo manera de conseguir alojamiento, lo que se convirtió en una “bendición oculta”, porque descubrimos “Bluff’s Edge” y, muy-especialmente: a Dick y Cherri, nuestros fabulosos anfitriones.
Arriving to “Bluff’s Edge”
It wasn’t entirely easy to locate “Bluff’s Edge.” As we went into the “magic mountain,” we began to think we had made a bad decision. The road was beautiful, but “in the middle of nowhere”. When we entered the dirt road (“Orchard Bluff”), already late at night, we were sure that we would stumble upon a deer, a moose or, in the worst case: with Big Foot! In fact, apparently “Big Foot” was a neighbor of the sector.

Bigfoot, also commonly referred to as Sasquatch, is a purported ape-like creature said to inhabit the forests of North America. Many dubious articles have been offered in attempts to prove the existence of Bigfoot, including anecdotal claims of visual observations as well as alleged video and audio recordings, photographs, and casts of large footprints. Some are known or admitted hoaxes. Tales of wild, hairy humanoids exist throughout the world, and such creatures appear in the folklore of North America, including the mythologies of indigenous people. Bigfoot is an icon within the fringe subculture of cryptozoology, and an enduring element of popular culture.
The majority of mainstream scientists have historically discounted the existence of Bigfoot, considering it to be the result of a combination of folklore, misidentification, and hoax, rather than a living animal. Folklorists trace the phenomenon of Bigfoot to a combination of factors and sources including indigenous cultures, the European wild man figure, and folk tales. Wishful thinking, a cultural increase in environmental concerns, and overall societal awareness of the subject have been cited as additional factors.
Other creatures of relatively similar descriptions are alleged to inhabit various regions throughout the world, such as the Skunk ape of the southeastern United States; the Almas, Yeren, and Yeti in Asia; and the Australian Yowie; all of which, like Bigfoot, are engrained in the cultures of their regions.
Bigfoot is most often described as a large, muscular, and bipedal ape-like creature covered in black, dark brown, or dark reddish hair. Anecdotal descriptions estimate a height of roughly 1.8–2.7 metres (6–9 ft), with some descriptions having the creatures standing as tall as 3.0–4.6 meters (10–15 ft). Some alleged observations describe Bigfoot as more “man-like”, with reports of a human-like face. In 1971, multiple people in The Dalles, Oregon, filed a police report describing an “overgrown ape”, and one of the men claimed to have sighted the creature in the scope of his rifle, but could not bring himself to shoot it because, “It looked more human than animal”.

The Birds
The least we imagined was that at the turn of one of the curves, the doors of a dream property would open, with hosts impossible to overcome. All super clean, full of details and saturated with any amount of fauna, especially birds. We noticed that in each other tree hung a nest of birds that we thought were swallows. In the same way they hung drinkers for the hummingbirds.

Lo menos que nos imaginamos fue que a la vuelta de una de las curvas, se abrirían las puertas de una propiedad de ensueño, con unos anfitriones imposible de superar. Todo super limpio, repleto de detalles y saturado de cualquier cantidad de fauna, en especial la fauna de aves. Nos dimos cuenta que en cada otro árbol colgaba un nido de pájaros que pensamos eran golondrinas. De igual manera colgaban bebederos para los colibríes.

Finding Bluff’s Edge
As a complement to the upcoming tenants of “Bluff’s Edge”, we decided to post a video in real time, because our GPS made a bad move on us and sent us down the wrong path. A lot of confusion is created when one does not know the way, especially when it is a desolate sector and, above all, in the darkness of the night.
Como complemento a los próximos inquilinos de “Bluff’s Edge”, decidimos publicar un video en tiempo real, porque nuestro GPS nos hizo una mala jugada y nos mandó por un camino equivocado. Se crea mucha confusión cuando uno no conoce el camino, en especial cuando se trata de un sector desolado y, sobre todo, en la oscuridad de la noche.

The Pool
I had warned Siomi that in that region, during the summer, the days are hot, and the nights are cold. For that reason, we did not have the opportunity to bathe in the pool, that although the water was kept at about 80 degrees, we assumed that we would freeze when we left it. The same with the hot tub on the fabulous terrace where we used to enjoy the best sunsets in the Sidereal Universe.

Le había advertido a Siomi que, en esa región, durante el verano, los días eran calurosos y las noches frías. Por tal razón no tuvimos la oportunidad de bañarnos en la piscina, que, aunque el agua se mantenía a unos 80 grados, suponíamos que nos congelaríamos al salir de ella. Lo mismo con el “hot tub” en la fabulosa terraza donde solíamos disfrutar de los mejores atardeceres del universo sideral.
In the afternoons we enjoyed a snack enlivened with Irish whiskey, the only one we found in Yoke’s Supermarket, both in Deer Park and in the suburb of Mead.

Chemtrails
The only discordant note of our stay, which has nothing to do with “Bluff’s Edge”, was discovering the existence of the so-called “chemtrails”, something we have not yet managed to understand. In the middle of that paradise, with a pure blue sky, we were surprised to see the dreaded “chemtrails”.

Conclusion
Our experience with Dick & Cherri on “Bluff’s Edge” couldn’t have been better. If there is one thing to thank Joe Biden historically for, it is for making it possible that, due to the circumstances he created, we had to stay in the heart of a lost mountain in the middle of an area known as “Chattaroy, Washington.”
